Who we are

Wabar Ahmed Foundation (WAF), Mu'asasadda Wabar Axmed, is a Somali-led foundation based at Makkah al Mukaramah Street, Mogadishu – Somalia. This policy explains how we handle personal information you share with us through waf.so.

What we collect

We only collect what you choose to send us through our forms:

• Contact and partnership forms: your name, email, phone number (if given), organisation and message.
• Donation enquiry form: your name, email, the cause you are interested in and your message.
• Volunteer application: the details you enter in the application.
• Donation confirmations you send our Finance Officer: your name, amount, channel and transaction reference.

This website does not process payments and does not collect card or bank details. Donations are made directly through the official channels on our Donate page.

How the forms work

When you press send, your message is sent securely (over HTTPS) to WAF. It is stored in our website's private admin system, which only authorised WAF staff can log in to, and a copy is emailed to the team member who handles that kind of enquiry.

Why we use it

• To reply to your message, enquiry or partnership proposal.
• To process a volunteer application.
• To confirm and acknowledge donations, and keep accurate financial records.

Who can see it

Only WAF staff and officers who need it to respond to you, such as our Secretary for general enquiries and our Finance Officer for donations. We do not sell, rent or share your information for marketing. We share it only if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries and applications only as long as needed to deal with them. Donation records are kept as long as needed for our financial accounts and any legal obligations.

waf.so does not set cookies or use advertising or tracking tools. See our Cookie Policy.

Your choices

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, unless we must keep it for legal or financial records.
